About Jewel Caraway

My name is Jewel, and welcome to my site! I started it to help people find out more about family law and divorce attorneys after my own experience. I have to tell you--getting a divorce is never pleasant, but sometimes it's the only option. I won't go into details, but in my old marriage I just had to get me and my kids out. But the legal stuff was a pain to deal with. Not to say it wasn't worth it, but it was definitely hard to navigate. Divorce papers, the custody battle--if you don't have a guide and a good lawyer, it is so difficult. So the purpose of this site is to help you work the system. Good luck making a better life for yourself!

Learn About Lead Poisoning

Lead poisoning is something you should educate yourself on. While lead poisoning is often something that parents of young children concern themselves with, the truth is that anyone can end up with lead poisoning under the wrong circumstances. This is why it is something that everyone should have at least a basic understanding of. The information here will cover some of the main things about lead poisoning that will help to give you a better understanding of it including letting you know when you may want to contact a lawyer.

Learn some of the symptoms of lead poisoning

There are a lot of different symptoms that can show up if someone is suffering from lead poisoning. Some of the symptoms can be seen in people of all ages, while other symptoms tend to be reserved more for those who fall within a certain age range. Here are some of the symptoms people of different age ranges can experience when suffering from lead poisoning:

Symptoms in children - A child can exhibit a wide range of symptoms. Some of these symptoms include difficulties learning, developmental delays, fatigue, a loss of appetite, stomach pains, nausea, constipation, hearing issues, and seizures.

Symptoms in adults - An adult can also have a wide range of symptoms. These can include things like problems concentrating, memory issues, mood swings, headaches, high blood pressure, body pains, and fertility issues.

Learn some of the causes of lead poisoning

There are a lot of ways that someone can end up coming in contact with lead. One of the more commonly known is by exposure to lead-based paint. While lea-based paint has been banned for many years, there are still many places with the paint still in place, whether it is under additional layers of lead-free paint or has never been painted over. This is why the paint in older homes should be tested to ensure it is free of lead.

Another thing to keep in mind is lead-based paint can also be found on any other type of painted items from years ago, including things like toys. Some of the other materials that can contain lead include batteries, pottery, roofing materials, pipes, and even in some types of makeup.

What to do if symptoms arise

If your child or anyone else in your family starts to exhibit these signs, you are going to want to get them medical care. If you know that they may have been exposed to lead, let this be known right away. You may also want to talk to a lead-poisoning lawyer because you may have a case. If you do have a possible case, then you are going to want to make sure you give the lawyer as much time as possible to look into it and get started.
